Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy focuses on restoring the overall function of the mind and body.  A comprehensive evaluation is performed to determine what a patient needs to return to work-related tasks or other activities of interest.  Our occupational therapist (OT) will examine the patient’s fundamentals to ensure that he or she is able to perform these daily activities with safety and proper mechanics.  The goal of occupational therapy is for a patient to become self-sufficient with the activities of their daily living, such as getting dressed or preparing dinner.

Common medical conditions that may benefit from Occupational Therapy include:

  • Amputations
  • Cerebrovascular Accident
  • Traumatic Brain Injury
  • Spinal Cord Injury
  • Shoulder Pain/Surgery
  • Elbow, Wrist, and Hand Injuries
  • Arthritis and Rheumatic Diseases
